This December, we’re hosting a holiday fundraiser and toy drive to support children receiving care for leukemia at Children’s Hospital – the same hospital where our son was treated during his journey with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Our Goal:
To deliver holiday care packages filled with toys, comfort items, and joy to the children staying in the hospital during the holiday season. These gifts are a small way to bring light and love to families facing incredibly hard times – something we deeply understand firsthand.
Date, Time and Location:
December 6th from 10am – 1pm
New Hills Church 5061 E 160th Ave, Brighton, CO 80602
How You Can Help:
✦ Donate new, unwrapped toys, activities/games, blankets, or comfort items (please see guidelines on what to bring/not bring to the right)
✦ Contribute to our fundraiser to help us purchase toys, supplies, and packaging materials
✦ Join us at the event to help assemble packages!
✦ Spread the word – every bit of support makes a difference!
🎟️ Toy Donation = Raffle Entry! For every item brought, you’ll receive a raffle ticket and we will draw 2 winners at the event!
🧡 This cause is close to our hearts, and we’re honored to give back to the hospital that cared for our sonand so many other children, especially as we spent Vaughn’s last Christmas there

Ideas for Age Groups:
(Blankets are wonderful for all age groups, hospital blankets are not great and it can be so comforting for kids to have comfy blankets of their own to always feel cozy)
👶Infants (0-2 years): Board books with bright pictures, Teething toys (BPA free), Rattles or light-up musical toys, Stacking cups or rings, Soft blankets or stuffed animals (new, in packaging), Cloth activity books. More practical items also may be helpful to parents (pacifiers, baby socks, etc.)
🧸 Toddlers (3-4 years): Duplo blocks or Mega Bloks sets, Simple puzzles (large pieces), Play-Doh sets (small, sealed packs), Toy cars or small figurines, Interactive sound books, Coloring books with washable crayons
👧 Younger Kids (5-7 years): LEGO sets (small to medium size), Art kits, Crayons, Markers, Coloring pads, Play-Doh and craft sets, Sticker books or activity books, Storybooks (picture or early readers), Board games. Kids this age usually also love themed toys (dinosaurs, princesses, superheros, animals, etc.)
🎮Older Kids (8-11 years): Craft or slime kits, Model kits, puzzles (100-300 pieces), card games like Uno or Go Fish, Fidget toys or sensory sets, Reading books (like Dog Man, Magic Tree House, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, etc.), LEGO sets or STEM kits
🎧 Teens (12-17 years): Journals and pens, Headphone or earbuds, Gift cards (Amazon, Target, iTunes, etc.), Sketch pads or adult coloring books, Cozy blankets or socks, Nail polish sets, Lip balm kits, Self-care items, Card games (Uno, Phase 10, Skip-Bo, etc).
